槟榔含的槟榔碱是一种胆碱能物质和挥发性生物碱,槟榔碱可增加脑的乙酰胆碱含量。作者遇到2例支气管哮喘患者因咀嚼槟榔即刻诱发哮喘急性发作,由于世界上约有2亿人口有咀嚼槟榔的嗜好,遂对此进行研究。方法①体外研究:测定槟榔碱和乙酰甲胆碱对离体豚鼠气管、肺组织和人支气管条的作用和效能。②槟榔碱和乙酰甲胆碱支气管激发试验:对7例20~40岁轻度哮喘患者(4女、3男),6例22~40岁非哮喘者(4男、2女),按双盲法进行槟榔碱和乙酰甲胆碱支气管激发试验。试验前6周无嚼槟榔、抽烟或呼吸道感染。吸入溶液递增浓度乙酰甲胆碱为1~32mg/ml,槟榔碱为1.2~38.4mg/ml。③咀嚼槟榔支气管激发试验:4例50~60岁稳定期哮喘患者,咀
