There were 152 cases of liver cancer treated with liquid nitrogen local cryotherapy, including 145 cases of primary liver cancer (PLC) and metastatic liver cancer (SLC). For example, in 145 PLCs, 46 patients (31.7%) were in phase I, 91 (62.8%) were in phase II, and 8 (5.5%) were in phase III. There was no operative death in the entire group. The 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival rates of 145 PLC patients after cryopreservation were 69.2%, 49.2%, and 34.8%, respectively; of the 41 patients with PLC ≤ 5cm, the survival rates were 91.0% and 76.5%, respectively. 64.2%. Seven patients with SLC survived an average of 22.3 months after freezing (4 to 112 months). The article suggests that cryotherapy of liver cancer is a safe and feasible method of local treatment. Cryotherapy for small hepatocellular carcinoma can achieve the goal of radical cure; for larger liver cancer, freezing can be used as a means of comprehensive treatment.
