OBJECTIVE: To analyze and discuss the effect of intravenous infusion on the blood vessel wall in patients with different length of needles. Methods: Seventy patients with cardiovascular diseases admitted to our hospital from June 2013 to June 2015 were randomly divided into control group and study group (n = 35), in which the length of needle in control group Choose 1.2 cm, while the study group need to select the length of the needle 0.6 cm, the choice of different length of the needle infusion of intravenous infusion on the analysis of the impact on the patient’s blood vessel wall. Results: The pain response of the study group was better than that of the control group (P <0.05). The available frequency of each vein, occlusion of the blood vessels, congestion around the blood vessels and phlebitis in the study group were significantly better than those in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion: In clinical practice, nurses should reduce the length of the needle into the blood vessel as much as possible on the basis of ensuring that the needle is firmly fixed and entering the blood vessel during the process of intravenous infusion.
