Toni Morrison, a black American writer, is deeply infected by black culture. His works mainly reflect the current situation and history of black Americans in the United States and are full of love and sympathy for their own people. His novel Beloved won the Pulitzer Prize in 1988 and was named New York Times the best American novel in 25 years, and an important piece of Nobel Prize in 1993. The author starts with the pursuit of self identity, analyzes the pursuit of identity consciousness of the author, and the pursuit of self identity of different characters in the novel. Accompanied by the vigorous development of the black liberation movement, the black self awakening consciousness, African American literature of African American literature in the 20th century
