1998年10月29日～12月3日,中国天年雅鲁藏布大峡谷科学探险考察队在西藏登山队的协助下,首次实现了人类全程徒步穿越大峡谷。 考察队共有57人,实际徒步穿越考察37天,行程近600公里。取得了许多不同专业的科学考察成果:水文方面发现了四处瀑布群并采集水样50余个;植物方面采集标本1000余号并发现了珍贵稀有的红豆杉;动物方面采集昆虫标本4000余号;地质方面采岩石样品100号…… 雅鲁藏布大峡谷科学探险考察工作虽早已圆满结束,科学家和记者们也都分别回到了各自岗位,但他们永远也忘不了在大峡谷中经历的日日夜夜——
