山西省农业科学院畜牧兽医研究所位于太原市南郊区小店镇北2公里处,是山西唯一的省级畜牧兽医综合科研单位。技术力量雄厚,全所科技人员132人,占职工总数的55％,其中高级技术人员45人,中级技术人员50人,初级科技人员21人。有大、中、小型精密仪器478台(件),其中5000元以上的大型科研仪器46台(件)。附设图书室、阅览室和资料情报室,馆藏中外图书200余类1.9万册,中外期刊1.1万册。畜牧兽医研究所主要以畜牧兽医应用研究为主,大力加强开发研究,特别是紧密结合生产实际及具有山西特色的实用技术和新技术研究,同时兼顾畜牧兽医发展后劲工程研究。所
