近两年来,由于上级领导的关心和学校领导的鼓励,在学生家长的支持和教师们的精心组织下,校园足球联赛在有色小学开展的如火如茶。仅上一个学期,就有41个教学班参与比赛,男女生队伍共82支,比赛场次达130余场。足球成为了有色小学最受孩子们欢迎的体育运动,有色小学也于2013年被评为湖北省体育传统项目(足球)学校。这期间,有色小学校园足球队还受得了上级领导的好评。中国足协相关领导和专家观看了有色小学的训练情况,观摩了小球员之间的比赛。足协校园足球培训班教员曾丹说:“看到这么多孩子热爱足球,让我们足球人感到很高兴。在短短一年时间里,黄石市校园足球水平有了明显的进步,我相信校园足球的活动会越办越好。”
