三角胶带(旧称三角皮带)传递功率的大小及其使用寿命的长短,取决于其材料(承拉夹层和基体材料)的性能、其设计结构和制造工艺。近二十年来,随着各种新型合成材料的研制成功以及胶带结构和制造工艺的不断改进,三角胶带传递功率的能力及其使用寿命都显著提高,从而有可能在大功率传动中用三角胶带代替滚子链和齿轮传动。据报导,美国固特异轮胎和橡胶公司采用杜邦公司的芳香族聚酰胺纤维Flexteh作为承拉夹层,制成一种八个三角形截面并列的整体三角胶带,用来驱动一台1600马力的泥浆泵,胶带轮的宽度只有9~3/8英寸(238毫米),比同功率的多排滚子链传动减小约50毫米。 本期刊载几种有关三角胶带的资料,供研究、制造和使用单位参考,以期迅速提高我国三角胶带的水平,并扩大其应用范围。
