Currently, commercially available hepatitis B (HB) vaccines are expensive and have led to the study of the immunogenicity of vaccinating low doses by different routes of injection. Some vaccines, such as rabies vaccines, have been effectively injected intradermally (ID). ID injection of a 1/10 standard dose of HB vaccine resulted in the same seroconversion rate as the standard dose of HB vaccine injected into the muscle (IM).
