Objective: To evaluate the value of Tei index in evaluating right ventricular function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Materials and Methods: Twenty-two patients with COPD and 32 healthy controls underwent routine echocardiography and pulmonary function measurement to calculate the Tei index of right ventricle. Results: The right ventricular system of pulmonary hypertension (PH) increased, the anterior wall of the right ventricle thickened and the diameter of the main pulmonary artery widened in patients with COPD. The Tei index of PH group increased with the increase of pulmonary artery pressure. The Tei The indices were significantly correlated with lung function indexes such as FEV1% and FEV1 / FVE. CONCLUSIONS: The overall right ventricular function has been impaired in patients with COPD, the right ventricular function is more impaired in patients with pulmonary hypertension, and the Tei index can effectively assess the right ventricular function in patients with COPD.
