闻一多步行入滇1938年2月19日,长沙临时大学的师生,在韭菜园圣经书院临时大学召开出发誓师大会,会后即告别了三湘大地。临时大学师生入滇的除了大部分乘火车绕道外,还有一部分是由湖南出发,徒步行走到昆明的“湘黔滇旅行团”了。旅行团由267名家庭贫困的男同学和11位中青年教师组成,旅行团的最高军事领导,是由湖南省主席张治中推荐的原东北军少将师长黄师岳。闻一多、曾昭抡、李继侗、袁复礼四位教授与学校派出的指导员黄钰生共同组成辅导委员会。这年闻一多刚好40岁。他的经历,在他那个岁数的知识分子中间,是很有代表性的。“五四”时期他是清华的学生领袖之一,1922年赴美国留学,回国后成了著名的“新月诗人”和大学教
