由天津市汉沽区、沈阳市和平区、大连市甘井子区、广州市荔湾区、太原市南城区、西安市莲湖区及长春市、重庆市、南昌市、成都市等教育与教研部门组成的“十城市(区)中小学体育研究会”是一个自发组织起来的横向联合的群众性学术团体。这类横向联合的学术团体,充满着活力,组织举办学术活动的积极性很高,自1985年组建成立以来,采取自筹经费、由成员单位轮流举办学术活动的办法,每年都举办一次大型的优秀体育课观摩及学术研讨活动,吸引着全国广大中小学体育教师,并得到有关市(区)各级教育行政部门,乃至党政部门的大力支持。为进一步提高学术活动的质量,并争取得到有关上级学术组织的支持、帮助和指导,十城市(区)中小学体育研究会于1989年5月申请加入中国体育科学学会。中国体育科学学会本着改革的精神,很快吸收
