艺术作为一种从人类社会诞生以来就存在的非常重要的人类活动,在同一称谓之下其具体内涵不仅从未中断演进的历程而且其内涵形态之间的相互差异之大超出了人们的一般想象。因此对“艺术品”的欣赏评价必须具体而谈,而且对其价值的判断通常也只能基于某一个角度和层面上来设定。在如今情况极为复杂的中外当代艺术景观当中,试图理解形态多样的各种艺术现象,离不开对艺术这种人类活动本身的复杂性的充分认识。旅美学者秦兆凯在本栏目系列刊发的国外当代艺术理论领域中的经典著作的译文主要也针对于国内对艺术问题本质在认识上的相对混乱状态,试图使大家能够通过对艺术基本存在性质的再思再认识,产生对与西方艺术传统密切相关的中国当代艺术的更成熟的认识。
As a very important human activity which has existed since the birth of human society, art has not only undermined the process of its evolution under the same appellation, but also has its own connotations that exceed the general imagination .
