Since August 1982, the U.S. stock market has risen for five years in a row, with the result that it has almost disappeared. The value of the New York Stock Exchange rose nearly threefold from $ 1.1 trillion to $ 2.8 trillion. Every third adult in the United States has a direct investment in the stock market, hoping to capitalize on the opportunities for making money. Another tens of millions have immediate benefits in the stock market through retirement funds, personal retirement accounts, insurance and savings plans. Later, “Crash Monday” is coming. It not only changed the atmosphere and shape of the U.S. financial markets, but also forced major changes in U.S. economic policies. Many experts say that even if the United States manages to avoid a recession that paralyzed the economy, the United States’ financial markets and the country as a whole will never be the same again.
