Objective: To investigate the prevalence of common diseases among officers and soldiers in an area above 4 500m above sea level in Tibet. Methods: A health examination team composed of medical specialists was established to carry medical equipment and medicines to officers and soldiers stationed in a certain area above 4 500m above sea level in Tibet for medical examination and tour inspection. Physical examination items included medical history, routine examination, blood tests, liver function, Function, lipids, abdominal B ultrasound, electrocardiogram, pulmonary function and oxygen saturation
