文化是外语教学的一个重要组成部分,因此,本文旨在说明中国的英语教师应该在教授英语语言的同时传授西方文化知识。首先,本文强调文化的重要性,指出目标文化是英语中不可分割的一部分,所以教授语言与传授文化知识是相辅相成的。随后,本文回答了这样的问题:“英语教师应教授文化的哪些具体内容?”接着,本文又探讨了传授文化知识的方法。具体来说,就英语教学应该如何在教授语法结构、生词和习语的同时传授文化知识这一问题,本文提出了五点建议。
Culture is an important part of foreign language teaching. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to show that Chinese English teachers should impart western cultural knowledge while teaching English language. First of all, the paper emphasizes the importance of culture and points out that target culture is an integral part of English. Therefore, teaching language and imparting cultural knowledge are mutually reinforcing. This article then answers the question: “What specifics should English teachers teach?” Next, the article explores ways to teach cultural knowledge. Specifically speaking, this article puts forward five suggestions on how English teaching should teach cultural knowledge while teaching grammatical structures, new words and idioms.
