白银厂矿床位于北祁连山加里东褶皱带东端,按地质力学体系属祁吕—贺兰山字型构造阿宁地盾西北部边缘。北祁连山火山活动显著,主要受N70°W(或有人称NWW)主构造带控制。沿此构造带呈线状喷溢和中心式喷溢。岩性为细碧岩夹细碧玢岩及相应的凝灰岩。分布长达1000多公里。白银厂是此构造带上的矿床之一。对其成因主要有四种论点。(1) 火山
