As the funding barrier in the Senate has been recently ruled out, it is estimated that the US Army Communications-Electronics Division will sign a production contract for the Intelligence and Electronic Warfare General Sensor Program, which was removed from the Army’s 1996 FY11 budget request in September IEWCS and then returned the application to the Army for further review, however, the Army reaffirmed the plan once again and resubmitted its request for IEWCS funding to the Appropriation Committee, which eventually approved the application.
