全明星周末一向都是由新秀对抗赛唱开场的,但还从来没有哪一届比赛像今年这么疯狂、精彩。新秀赛迄今已经举行了12届,但采取由一,二年级新秀对抗的方法到今年是第八届,大卫·斯特恩这样安排无疑有两种想法:1、把两届优秀的年轻球员一块介绍给全世界的球迷,不但能够展示NBA雄厚的后备力量,还能使这些球员更快地被球迷们所接受、喜欢。2、由于代表的是各自那届新秀的最高水平,双方都会尽全力去争取胜利,这样可以使比赛更加激烈。以上两点在本届新秀对抗中都得到了最好的诠释,不但如此,新秀赛的“疯狂”还直接还影响到了两天后的全明星东西部对抗赛。
