The effects of different concentrations of lead stress on the growth of its ramet seedlings were studied by using liquid culture method with German iris as test material. The results showed that plant height, number of adventitious shoots, number of leaves, root length, root number, fresh weight and dry weight decreased with the increase of Pb2 + concentration. Electron microscopy showed that lead was mainly concentrated on the inner and outer walls of the cells in the root, causing destruction of the root and leaf cells. Lead affected the normal metabolism of the substance and inhibited plant growth.
