研究辽金史中最主要的一个问题,是要确定辽金史在中国历史中的地位,也就是要确定契丹族、女真族在中华民族史中的地位。以往有很多学者都写过关于辽金史研究意义的文章,但他们只强调了辽金史在中国历史上的一些积极作用。我认为这些作用是有的,但不能过分强调,不能对辽金以前各个朝代、各个民族所作的贡献都不加考虑,完全归之于契丹族、女真族。更不能把中华各族人民,尤其是汉族和契丹族、女真族人民所作的贡献都记在统治者身上。同时,更不能仅看到辽金王朝所起的积极作用,而忽视
