In mid-June, SGI and SANavigator recently announced a strategic alliance to provide SGI customers with SANavigator’s SAN management software. This agreement shows that the two companies will promote their customers to use SAN solutions more widely. The solution will provide users with a full range of SAN management tools, including: data discovery, data path partitioning, and event notification in the SGI storage network. In another development, Macrovision announced that SGI has signed a FLEXlm for deploying GLOBEtrotter software electronic authentication technology from Macrovision branch offices worldwide. FLEXIm enables companies like SGI to flexibly provide certification terms and make software certification and software updates easier. Software vendors use FLEXlm electronic authentication technology every day to supply $40 billion worth of software. According to the report of International Data Corporation: By 2003, 50% of software supply will be electronically certified.
