本文对“权”和“权重”的本义和引申义的产生和发展进行了探讨。认为“权”的引申义之一是表示秤锤作用点到秤悬点的距离,“权重”作为复合词,其意义之一是表示重物作用点到秤悬点的距离和重物重量之间的复合关系性质概念,即“权”和“权重”分别相当于现代力学里的力臂和力矩的概念。
This paper discusses the origin and development of “right” and “weight” and the generation and development of the extended meaning. One of the meanings of “weight” as the extended meaning of “right” is the distance from the scale weighting point to the scale hanging weight. One of the meanings of “weight” is the compound word. The concept of the compound relationship between the nature of the “right” and “weight” are equivalent to modern mechanics in the arm and torque concept.
