到本世纪末,我国社会主义建设经济发展的总目标是国民生产总值翻两番,人民生活达到小康水平。为了实现这一总目标,教育具有重要的战略地位,担负着提高中华民族素质,为社会主义建设培养专门人才和劳动者的任务。学校体育卫生工作是教育的重要组成部分。“八五”期间,学校体育卫生和国防教育工作的备斗目标是:大面积增强学生体质,提高学生的健康水平,提高学校竞技运动水平,为国家输送更多的德、智、体全面发展的体育后备人才。强化国防教育,增强学生的国防观念。总的目标是培养社会主义建设者和接班人。
