Primary dysmenorrhea is due to increased uterine prostaglandin caused by increased uterine muscle contraction and ischemia. But there are other factors that affect prostaglandin synthesis and release. Arginine-containing vasopressin (AVP), which causes intense contraction of uterine muscles in non-pregnant women and significantly reduces uterine blood flow. Recently found that patients with primary dysmenorrhea plasma AVP was significantly higher, but whether the source of dysmenorrhea or dysmenorrhea is unclear. The authors treated patients with primary dysmenorrhea with prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors and observed the changes of AVP after relief of dysmenorrhea. 9 cases
