《晋书》尊羲之卑献之唐太宗于羲献父子,尊父而卑子,《晋书·王羲之传》已昭然。《晋书》作者房玄龄暗借春秋笔法,论及羲,献父子处,虽取南朝书论旧籍之说,却删改关键语词,人多不察,如,南朝宋羊欣《采能书人名》载:「王献之,晋中书令,善隶稿,骨势不及父,而媚趣过之。」而《晋书》卷八十《王献之传》改为:「献之骨力远不及父,而颇有媚趣。」又,南朝宋虞和《论书表》曰:
