2002年12月10日,北京民营科技实业家协会同市科委、市科协、中关村管委会、市工商联、市贸促会、市企联联合召开首届北京市民营科技企业创业人员和技术人员代表大会暨第五届“科技之光”表彰会。表彰了200名优秀民营科技企业家和65家优秀信用企业。民营科技企业是实现科技转化为直接生产力的最有效的途径和最好的企业组织形式和经营方式之一,是发展高新技术产业的一支主力军,它已经成长为首都经济重要的、新的经济增长点。从1980年陈春先、纪世瀛等同志创办了第一家民营科技企业以来,历经22年的风风雨雨,取得了惊人的成就。遥想当年,七八个科技人员在中科院物理所的一个破旧的仓库角落里,以500元人民币起家,发展成今天这样一个强大的、令世人瞩目的民营科技企业群,这是一个值得歌颂和值得钦佩的壮举。

In retrospect, seventy-eight scientific and technological personnel started out in a shabby warehouse corner at the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences starting at RMB 500 and developed into a powerful group of private technology enterprises that attract worldwide attention today. This is a commendable and worthwhile Admiration for the feat.
