胡适和鲁迅是中国文学史上的两座巨峰,两大重镇,“五四”新文化运动中的两座丰碑,如何比较,是个难度很大,甚至须深加研究写出专著方可阐明的问题。这里,我们只能就胡、鲁二人,作个简略的比较。首先,我们须从好像不扳倒鲁迅这座高峰就不足以抬高胡适那尊巨像的“非此即彼”的思维模式中解脱出来。这种“不是……就是”的思维模式不突破,我们永远也无法实事求是地讨论问题,只会永远钻不出非“讴歌”即“批判”的怪圈。
