今年5月17日,一个新的世界性教育组织——国际继续工程教育协会在北京城西北角的科学会堂诞生。当美国工程教育协会代表汉森教授宣布协会成立后,18个发起组织的代表在照相机闪烁的灯光下依次走上主席台签署文件,从而使第四次世界继续工程教育大会形成第一个高潮。这次大会的出席代表中有内宾294人,外宾234人,代表着世界上47个国家或地区。大会不仅是我国近年来所举办的规模最大的一次国际教育交流活动,也是世界继续工程教育界的一次空前盛事。联合国教科文组织的代表认为,与前三次大会相比,
May 17 this year, a new world education organization - the International Institute of Continuing Engineering Education in Beijing’s northwest corner of the City of Science was born. When the representative of the Association of Engineering Education of the United States, Professor Hansen announced the founding of the Association, the representatives of the 18 sponsoring organizations took the podium to sign the documents under the flashing lights of the cameras, thus forming the first climax of the Fourth World Congress on Continuing Engineering Education.
