300多年以前,法国青年医生帕平因故被迫逃往国外。他沿着阿尔卑斯山艰难跋涉,打算去瑞士避难。帕平一路上风餐露宿,渴了找点儿山泉喝,饿了煮点儿土豆吃。有一天,帕平走到一座山峰附近,他觉得饿了,于是找了一些干树枝,架起篝火,煮起土豆来。水滚开了几次,土豆却依然煮不熟。为了填饱肚子,他无可奈何地把没煮熟的土豆硬吃了下去。这件事留给他的印象深极了。
More than 300 years ago, the young French doctor Papin was forced to flee abroad. He was struggling along the Alps and was planning to seek refuge in Switzerland. Papin blew on the road, thirsty to find some spring drinking, hungry and cook potatoes. One day, Papin walked near a mountain peak. He felt hungry, so he found some dried branches, set up a campfire and boiled potatoes. The water rolled away several times and the potatoes were still uncooked. In order to fill his stomach, he had no choice but to harden the uncooked potatoes. This matter left him with a deep impression.
