绘本是20世纪产生的图书品种,是人类现代社会的产物。在国外,绘本已经有了100多年的发展历史,是发达国家儿童首选的读物。在我国台湾,对绘本阅读的研究也已有20多年的历史。而在我们大陆,对绘本阅读的实践还属于起步阶段。近几年,我国有一些儿童文学作家与小学语文教学研究专家,认识到绘本阅读对低年级孩子成长的重要性,开始致力于绘本的推荐与绘本阅读的推广和导读。2011年,绘本开始在河南省逐步传播
