Since 1992, the privately-owned science and technology enterprises in our province have developed rapidly, and the scale of the industry has been continuously expanded. The overall level has been markedly increased, and companies whose income exceeds 10 million yuan have multiplied. According to a sample survey of 1,440 privately-owned technology enterprises in the province at the end of 1997, the number of employees was 62,074.
