Background Pancreatic cancer is the sixth most common cancer in western countries and the fourth leading cause of cancer death. The 5-year survival rate is only 5% -25%. Vascular invasion is the most important factor to assess the resectability of pancreatic cancer. About 21% to 64% of the patients have vascular invasion.
