谁是艺术经纪人?他们出现在各种艺术沙龙里,提拔尚未崭露头角的艺术新锐,为他们出画册、办展览;他们利用各种媒介的力量,发掘古旧的艺术作品并赋予它们全新的价值。在一项交易中,他们通常以第三方的面目出现:既不是投资艺术品的买家,也不是期盼抬高价格从中盈利的拍卖行。他们是买家与卖家的中间人,为买家推荐艺术家与作品,为卖家寻找合适的买主。他们同时扮演艺术鉴赏家与财务顾问的角色,为客户辨别艺术作品的价值、缺陷与投资空间。
Who are the art dealers? They appear in various art salons, promoting yet new art emerges, giving them pictures and organizing exhibitions. They use the power of various media to discover ancient art works and give them new value. In a transaction they usually appear as third parties: neither a buyer of works of art nor an auction house looking to raise prices. They are middlemen for buyers and sellers, recommend artists and works for buyers, find suitable buyers for sellers. They also play the role of art connoisseur and financial advisor, identifying the value, flaws and investment space of artwork for clients.
