光山县马畈公社柳林大队有十三个生产队,一千四百三十六人。在毛主席革命卫生路线指引下,一九六九年开始办合作医疗,坚持自力更生、勤俭办医、预防为主、中西医结合等原则,合作医疗得到了巩固发展。现在,这个大队合作医疗站用中草药治病占总用药量的百分之六十以上,既保障了社员身体健康,又减轻了社员经济负担,促进了农业生产的发展。
There are 13 production teams and 1,436 people in the Liulin Brigade in Mashan County, Guangshan County. Under the guidance of Chairman Mao’s revolutionary health route, cooperative medical care began in 1969, and the principles of self-reliance, diligent medical service, prevention, and integration of Chinese and Western medicines were all adhered to. The cooperative medical service was consolidated. Now, this brigade’s co-operative medical station treats more than 60% of the total drug use with Chinese herbal medicine, which not only protects the health of the members, but also reduces the economic burden on the members, and promotes the development of agricultural production.
