由北京师范大学历史系中国现代史教研室王桧林教授等集体编著的《中国现代史》(上、下册)一书出版后,受到了读者的普遍欢迎。该书共68万余字,于1983年9月初版。第一次印数为8.5万册,1985年1月重印了一次,总印数达到了12.6万余册。现在全国已有许多高等院校选用此书作教材。这部教材,是编著者以实事求是为原则来研究和编写历史教材的一种新的尝试,反映了他们长期以来从事教学和科学研究的成果。在编著过程中,他们吸取了近年来有关史学研究的新观点和新成就,并且广泛地征求过有关方
The publication of “Modern Chinese History” (first and second volumes), compiled by Professor Wang Hui-lin and other professors of the Department of History of Modern Chinese History at Beijing Normal University, was generally welcomed by readers. The book a total of more than 680,000 words, in September 1983 the first edition. The first print was 85,000 copies, reprinted in January 1985 and the total print number reached 126,000 copies. Now many colleges and universities all over the country have chosen this book as their textbook. This textbook is a new attempt by editors to study and compose history textbooks based on the principle of seeking truth from facts, and reflects their long-standing achievements in teaching and scientific research. In the process of compilation, they absorbed the new ideas and new achievements in historical studies in recent years, and extensively solicited the opinions of relevant parties
