中国现代学术的开辟者、文史学家王国维早年研究、介绍德国哲学家叔本华的哲学思想,主要是依据19世纪末到20世纪初出版的数种叔本华作品英译本。在《静盦文集》的正、续编中,他以多种方式引用和化用了这些英译本的原文,以实现他建立一种“中西化合相互推助之学”的理想。本文对这些脱胎于叔本华作品的文字做了考证和还原,试为评估王国维对西洋哲学的理解提供一个客观有效的方法。
Wang Guowei, a pioneer and historian of Chinese modern science, started his research in the early years and introduced the philosophy of Schopenhauer, the German philosopher, mainly based on several English versions of Schopenhauer’s works published from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. In the positive and sequel editorials of The Jingji Collection, he quoted and translated the original versions of these English translations in various ways to realize his ideal of “establishing a mutual aid system between Chinese and Western Chemistry”. This article does a textual research on the texts derived from Schopenhauer’s works and tries to provide an objective and effective way to evaluate Wang Guowei’s understanding of Western philosophy.
