番木瓜良种穗中红原产广东,在有春雨的两广地区,当年11月至12月下种,次年3月移栽,10月即有果上市,深受瓜农欢迎。我们于1986年4月从广州市园艺场引进良种穗中红,进行试种栽培试验,经一年的观测表明,穗中红确有矮干速生、早产高产的特性。现将引种试种结果初报如下:
The origin of the papaya seeds is red in Guangdong. In the areas of Guangdong and Guangxi where there are spring rains, the plants are planted in November and December of the same year. The plants are transplanted in March of the following year and are listed in October and are welcomed by farmers. In April 1986, we introduced the red ear of good seed from Guangzhou Horticultural Field to carry out the trial cultivation experiment. After one year of observation, it shows that there is indeed the characteristics of short stem, fast growth and high yield of premature birth.
