兖州矿区均为沉积岩,无岩浆浸入,煤系地层为石炭二迭系,水文地质总的概貌是第四纪含水层较多,且水量较大,但不是太厚(各井筒附近最厚200米左右)。上侏罗系红层虽然比较松散,但含水量不是太大,一般井筒所见30~40米~3/时。煤系地层岩石比较软,含水层仅4~5层,涌水量约100米~3/时左右。岩层层理较发育,裂隙分布不均,但多为垂直斜交,且裂隙间互不贯通。灰岩中局部有溶洞,各含水层之间均有一定的隔水层。因此,矿区在第四系施工立井井筒时皆采用冻结法施工,浅部土建基础4~14米用群井降水疏干。
