植物健壮的先决条件,主要取决于根的分布及其活力。因研究根系相当困难,故对根的生长习性的了解比对地上部分的了解少得多。根系具有很重要的生理作用。因为它不仅是大部分绿色植物吸收水分和盐分的部位,而且对植株起着回持作用。在多年生植物中,椰子通年结果,是经济价值最高的棕榈树种之一。因此,了解椰子根的分布、有效根产生最多的部位以及施肥的适宜区等方面的常识十分重要。
The prerequisites for plant robustness depend mainly on the distribution of the roots and their vigor. Due to the difficulty of studying root systems, there is much less understanding of the growth habit of the roots than of the aerial parts. Roots have a very important physiological role. Because it is not only the site where most green plants absorb water and salt, but also act as a back-up to the plant. Among perennials, coconuts are one of the most economically valuable palm tree species ever-through. It is therefore important to understand the distribution of coconut roots, the areas where effective roots are most abundant, and the appropriate areas for fertilization.
