The application of probability risk analysis (PRA) in slope stability evaluation is described. Several authors agree that in some cases, this approach is practical. However, PRA has not been widely used in geotechnical engineering, despite the large number of published papers on this topic. Outlines the differences between the traditional deterministic and probabilistic methods. Particular emphasis is put on the latter’s potential benefits in the economic structure during the design implementation, and typical examples are given to illustrate the practical application of this method.
