珠管类饰物是珠饰的重要组成部分,湖南出土的这类饰物数以千计,上至新石器时代、下至清朝均有。材质非常广泛,有金、银、铜、骨、陶、瓷、玻璃、玉、石、翡翠、玛瑙、水晶、绿松石、琥珀、珊瑚、木、象牙、核桃、果核、角、珍珠等等,制作工艺依质地不同各具特色。湖南出土的珠、管类珠饰,以两汉时期为最多,战国次之,其他各个历史时期出土的相对较少。

The unearthed pearl and tube beadwork in Hunan were the most in the Han Dynasty and the second in the Warring States period, with relatively few unearthed in other historical periods.
