The title compound 2-(4-chlorophenyl)-1,3-dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-perimidine(C_(19)H_(17)ClN_2) was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, ~1H NMR, HRMS and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal of the title compound belongs to orthorhombic system,space group Pnma with a = 11.385(2), b = 12.170(2), c = 11.210(2) ?, V = 1553.2(5) ?~3, Z = 4, Dc =1.321 g/cm~3, m(Mo-Ka) = 0.244 mm~(-1), F(000) = 648, S = 1.309, R = 0.0400 and w R(I > 2s(I)) =0.1065. X-ray diffraction results showed that the molecular structure is highly symmetric and the new-formed N-heterocyclic ring is non-planar. In addition, the biological experiment showed that the title compound showed inhibitory activities against fungi with varied potencies.
