美国中兴钢厂1号大型板坯连铸机,始建于60年代末期,是美国第一台大板坯连铸机,也是世界上最大的板坯连铸机之一。由于该机设备老化,长期以来浇铸的铸坯存在着严重的中心线裂纹和表面横向裂纹。为此,由西安重型机械研究所技术总负责、上海重型矿山机械公司承包制造,对该厂1号板坯连铸机进行了更新改造。工程分两期进行,分别于1992年2月26日和7月20日一次试浇成功。截至今年7月,已浇钢12万吨以上。铸坯质量显著提高,铸坯中心线裂纹和内部裂纹已经消失,板坯外弧侧的表面横向裂纹也已消失,内弧侧的表面横向裂纹也有了显著改进。由于铸坯表面缺陷造成的铸坯重量损失平均降低了2.6%,浇铸速度提高了16%。若年产铸坯按30万
