苏州钢铁厂从1957年开始筹建,至今已整整三十年了。三十年来,全厂职工奋力拚博,艰苦创业,从单一的炼铁企业逐步建成了炼焦、烧结、炼铁、炼钢、轧材的中型联合企业,成为江苏冶金工业的四大骨干企业之一。现有职317290人,固定资产总值8407.6万元。到1986年为止,苏钢已产生铁259.045万吨,焦炭216.61万吨,钢锭76.46万吨,
