新时期党员修养的意义加强党员修养是由党的性质和新时期的特点所决定的。共产党员是无产阶级的先锋队组织,它既不同于封建社会政治集团,也不同于任何资产阶级政党。尽管党在不同的历史时期有不同的工作重心,但解放全人类、实现共产主义始终是党所追求并为之奋斗的最终目标。这就要求每一个共产党员以此为已任,时刻牢记自己的使命,做带领广大人民群众向这一目标迈进的先锋战士。固然,我党在历史上十分注重党员的教育和修养。但在新时期的社会背景和条件下,重新强调这一问题则显得意义更为突出:执政党的地位要求我党要有更高的素质;市场经济的发展要求我党要有全新的知识和能力;
Significance of Self-cultivation of Party Members in the New Period Strengthening Party members’ self-cultivation is determined by the nature of the Party and the characteristics of the new period. Communists are the vanguard organization of the proletariat. They are different from feudal social political groups and from any bourgeois political party. Although the party has different focuses of work in different historical periods, the ultimate goal of liberating all mankind and realizing communism has always been that the party pursues and strives for. This requires that every member of the Communist Party take this as his own duty and always keep his mission in mind and be a vanguard fighter who leads the broad masses of people toward this goal. Of course, our party places great emphasis on the education and cultivation of party members in history. However, under the social background and conditions of the new era, it is even more significant to re-emphasize this issue: the status of the ruling party requires that our party have a higher quality; the development of a market economy requires that our party have a completely new knowledge and ability;
