American poet Elizabeth Bishop’s life is uncertain and her works reveal more acute perceptions and profound insights on memories and directions. This article focuses on the four poems in Bishop’s last collection of three geographies and explores how it presents a reflection of history and reality through space-time distance. In her pen, memories of the past aimed at confronting memory loss, as well as the resulting identity confusion. Her interest in geography reflects the traveler’s curiosity about her position, which changes from time to time in view of her work, and thus transforms her experience; this process shows the poet’s sensitivity to gender consciousness (even sexual orientation) and identity Including self-awareness), which is also reflected as a sense of superiority for the lower Brazilian population.
