以对氯甲苯为起始物料，经格氏化反应后，与邻氯苯肼反应生成2-氰基-4′-甲基联苯，总收率为75%。“,”4’-methyl-2-biphenylcarbonitrile was prepared from 1-chloro-4-methylbenzene by Grignard and reaction with 2-chlorobenzonitrile in overall of about 75%.
