刚刚过去的2006年,是中美“乒乓外交”35周年,应中国乒乓球协会的邀请,几位美国朋友——当年首次访华的美国乒乓球代表团成员又一次在春天里访问了北京,使我又获得了与他们交谈和采访的机会,随即在人民日报发表了长篇通讯《“乒乓外交”见证中国微笑》,5月被评为人民日报好新闻。屈指算来,我采访“乒乓外交”已经有20年了,是《乒乓外交幕后》一书的作者,参与过中央电视台“焦点访谈”制作的“乒乓外交”节目,
The just-past 2006 was the 35th anniversary of “ping-pong diplomacy” between China and the United States.
