A selenium step-by-step extraction procedure has been developed to sequentially select selenium in geochemical samples into six “on the operation” defined phases: water-soluble selenium (water extraction); adsorption on oxidized minerals and Exchangeable selenite ion (extracted with 0.1 mol / L KH2PO4); organic selenium (0.1 mol / L Na4P2O7); selenium (4) combined with Fe-Mn-Al oxides and carbonate . Selenium in the sulfide (KClO3 + concentrated HC1 extract); selenium in the silicate residue (soluble in HF + HNO3 + HClO4 mixed solution). The feasibility and practicability of the extraction steps are discussed in detail.
